Susanne Kirchmayr aka Electric Indigo
DJ, Musikerin und Komponistin. Tritt seit 1989 in bisher 45 Ländern auf. Ihr Name steht für die intelligente und eigenständige Interpretation von Techno und elektronischer Musik. 1998 gründete sie das transnationale Netzwerk female:pressure, das 2009 mit einer Honorary Mention beim Prix Ars Electronica bedacht wurde. Als Komponistin erhielt Kirchmayr 2012 den outstanding artist award in der Sparte Computermusik und elektronische Musik und 2020 den Kunstpreis Musik der Republik Österreich.
Ihr musikalisches Schaffen lebt im Spannungsfeld zwischen elektroakustischer Musik in konzertanter Aufführung und den Tanzflächen dunkler Clubs. Gelegentlich schreibt sie auch für Theater und Film. 2019 komponierte Kirchmayr für das Klangforum Wien und ihre Werke wurden auf Festivals wie Wien Modern, Musikprotokoll, CTM oder Heroines of Sound uraufgeführt.
2018 erschien Electric Indigos Debutalbum “5 1 1 5 9 3“ auf Imbalance Computer Music, im März 2020 folgte das Album “Ferrum“ auf Editions Mego. Im Januar 2021 hatte ihr neues Stück “Brittle” Premiere beim Fraglity of Sounds Festival. Zur Zeit arbeitet sie an der Albumversion von Brittle.

Electric Indigo - Columnar Jointing Mix
Teil 2 einer Doppel-Mix-CD namens System Revival Mix Vol. 1, die schon letztes Jahr zusammengestellt und gemixt wurde, aber erst jetzt gerade erschienen ist. Ein spezielles Projekt, das wegen der Pandemie ins Leben gerufen wurde und gleichermaßen DJs wie Artists und Labels unterstützen will. Deshalb sind alle Tracks lizenziert und die Arbeit als DJ wurde auch bezahlt.

Meat Recordings is back with a digital compilation of seven pret-a-dancer techno tracks featuring the label’s trademark sound and beyond. For the 15th release in the history of the
Viennese imprint Gerald VDH selected seven tunes by some of his favourite Austrian and
German producers. Aida Arko, Black Lotus, Gerald VDH, Matt Mor, Scirox, Specific Objects
and Verschwender (in alphabetical order, and in order of appearance) each present some of
their strongest work to date, ranging from dark to uplifting, from playful to pounding and
from educated to big room.

Die FM4 Musikmaschinen betreten diesmal unbekanntes Terrain: Statt um Synthesizer, Sampler oder Drumcomputer geht es um Effektpedale. Genau die, die man oft in Kombination mit Gitarren antrifft und die im Rock und Funk für viele klangliche Innovationen gesorgt haben. Verzerrung, Flanger, Chorus oder WahWah können aber selbstverständlich auch in Kombination mit Tasteninstrumenten oder Rhythmusmaschinen für interessante Sounds sorgen, wie Patrick Pulsinger und Stefan Trischler vorführen werden.

SIN (Bias Beach Records/Vienna)

SiN ist ein österreichisches Produzentenduo, bestehend aus Marvin Seifner und Jonathan Reiner. Als Promo für ihren Release auf Bias Beach Records haben sie uns einen Exklusivmix geschickt.
Bio: „Let’s close the gap between alternative and pop and start a new era of electro-acoustic sounds,“ says SIN’s Marvin Seifner. „We do everything organically. We hardly ever quantise beats. We like to keep in perfect imperfections, and mostly play everything ourselves.“ All those factors help make SIN’s music as clean as Alpine air. „Bittersweet“ is how they describe the emotions they always manage to capture in their productions. „A bit of happiness, a bit of sadness, because that’s how life is, isn’t it?“ says Jonathan Reiner.
SIN is a new duo with a lot of history. Both halves of the partnership have a combined 20 years of experience in making music. Jonathan also toured a lot, playing his trade in clubs all around Europe, while Marvin was „always more of a studio guy.“ Both Marvin and Jonathan hail from tiny villages in Burgenland. It’s one of Austria’s smallest and least populous states. Aside from boasting a huge number of castles and the internationally renowned Nova Rock Festival, there isn’t much in the way of counter culture and certainly none of the music you would hear in more metropolitan cities. Keen to broaden their horizons, both made the move to nearby Vienna, which is where they met, and soon after their love affair with
proper dance music began.”

„Liebes La Boum de luxe Team, lieber Heinz!
Der Sommer naht, und ich wollte euch wieder etwas Musik zukommen lassen, die im besten Fall ein breites Grinsen auf die Gesichter aller geneigten GIS-Zahler*innen zaubert.
Der Mix entstand im Rahmen einer Streaming Session unseres Vereins Plankton electronic movement , der im März in der Linzer Tabakfabrik Station machte. Im Nachhinein betrachtet ist der Mix eine Hommage an die Primetime-Sets der späten 1990er Jahre, wo die Genre-Grenzen noch etwas fließender waren und man nicht genau wusste, ob der nächste Track nun aus der House- / Techno- oder sogar Trance-Ecke kommen würde. Wer mehr davon hören und vor allem sehen möchte, der hat dazu jede Woche am Donnerstag und Freitag Gelegenheit, wo wir DJ-Sets live über unsere Plattform streamen.
