I started to listen to electronic music in 1994. Bands like The Orb, Orbital and Future Sounds Of London created sounds I've never heard before. Coming from the Grunge section (I played the mean guitar, to punish my step ma), I was totally new to this kind of music.

Well I did listen to Pink Floyd, but the awesome album "UFO" by The Orb was played over and over again.

Thanks to Felix (a good friend and bass player of our grunge band), whose father worked at a radio station (that won't play this music), we got tons of cd's sorted out. I will always remember that day, when Felix came up with Orbital's "Snivilisation". This sound was meant to be timeless, like "Wish you where here".

Well in 1995 German Hip Hop started to launch and became very successfull. The outstanding album of Die Fantastischen Vier "Die 4. Dimension" made me open my mind.

I've never been into the German Techno scene. But I did go to The Love Parade in 1996 and I missed The Orb performing Charlie Chaplin's "Gold Rush" - damn!!!

I could go on and on. The main line is you should not think in categories. Be opened to all sort of music. If it grooves, it grooves. And that's what it's all about."
