WoodenCabin

Verträumte Songs zwischen Akustik und Elektronik von zwei Musikern aus Leibnitz.
WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART
As we spent one night with our guitarist friend Fabian Huss at his flat, strangely out of tune sounds arose on his „Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart“ piano. It is the center in his smoky dark room. Whit its mystical character, the song forms the intro to „Overflow“ and is about saying goodbye and being left.

WoodenCabin über sich

There is a tiny little cabin under the Tuscan Sun. You can hear the sound of wind wheels and watch poplar trees dancing among vineyards. It is not an Italian story. In that tiny wooden cabin in the south-east of Austria Tobi and Alex started to soak up that feeling of freedom and serenity of their homeland the South Styrian Wine Road. A place of pleasure and surfeit with people of the working class, middle class and the elite. A source of friction and therefore a perfect breeding ground for art and music. With their roots and history of folk music and indie pop Wooden Cabin mingles earthy instrumental sounds with mellow synthesizers and creates pop music with dreamy sunset vibes. The two band members are coming from different backgrounds but still meet in a golden mean of indie and alternative pop elements.

In their first album »Overflow« the band processed the difficulties of finding their way in a system-led society without losing themselves in the process. What does it mean to be an artist? How important is it to be human at first before being creative and what does all of this means during a pandemic where nobody knows when it really ends. All those topics are buried in soft guitar sounds combined with mellow electronic impressions which you can hear for example in songs like »Time« or »dunno«. But there is also that deep grounded desire of simplicity and acoustic moments which are reflected in »Loop«. By taking two steps back and moving away from one another they find each other in a symbiotic way making music and discover life with all its feelings and emotions. Perhaps the perspective is a little clearer if you look at the world from the outside of digital and capital abundance. Because what defines us as a human being? Completely naked without a cover standing in the forest…
